Purpose
To ensure that:
- First-line support is provided to all end users.
- Banking Management System (BMS)/ Appraisal system users have the correct access roles to perform their specific tasks.
- All End User issues are attended to and responded to efficiently and effectively within a timeframe.
- All reports are generated and provided to users in a timely manner.
Principal Responsibilities
Core System
- Assist Programmers in systems development.
- Contribute and assist in the Systems Development Team achieving its KPI and Target.
- Maintain and enhance the core banking management system.
- Provide a conducive work environment for the Bank’s BMS end users.
- Provide the first point of support to the Bank’s key BMS end users regarding any BMS-related issues.
- Filter, respond, escalate, manage, and document daily Helpdesk email queries.
- Identify areas in the Bank where processes can be improved and automated to increase efficiency.
- Assist Programmers during End of Month processing.
- Create and maintain a healthy collaborative relationship with our BMS key stakeholders
- Ensure that the Change Control Request process is adhered to stringently when a change request is initiated by end users.
- Check and ensure 100% policy compliance when a change control request is received to make sure there is no breach before changes are carried out in the system.
- Generate daily ad-hoc BMS reports requested by branches and managers.
- Assist Programmers with End of Month Reports (Dumps) for Business Analysts.
- Make changes to the BMS upon instructions from the Team Leader Systems Development via Programmers.
Manage the Banks’ intranet and corporate websites
- Create/ Maintain the Banks’ websites.
- Ensure that the websites are easily navigable and accessible.
- Provide strategic planning for marketing the Banks’ products/ services through the internet.
- Provide means of accessibility to information such as circulars, policies, manuals, and reports to all staff through the intranet.
Database Administration and Reports
- Ensure proper backups are done to the databases as required by the DRP/BCP.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the data.
- Development and testing of Database Objects.
- Generate End of Month reports for the Finance Department to be submitted to the Reserve Bank of Fiji and the Ministry of Finance.
- Generate End of Month Reports (Dumps) for Business Analysts.
- Generate ad-hoc reports as requested.
- Develop, implement and document new reporting procedures.
- Responsible for all BMS reporting to the Ministry of Finance, EXCO and Managers distributed in an accurate and timely manner.
System Software Compliance
- Assist Programmers in scheduling regular BMS training for our end users on selective tasks.
- Maintain contact with a broad spectrum of the Banks’ staff to establish an ongoing dialogue, to ensure that day-to-day activities are monitored and users are aware of the current status of system developments.
- Responsible for resolving any technical issues with the help of the Programmers that may arise in BMS. Proper analysis and assessment need to be made for any BMS matter. Thorough problem documentation and scope of work to be carried out before any changes are proposed.
- Responsible for checking data integrity issues with BMS which are keyed in by other branches and departments and recommending ways to solve the issues. As IT issues are complex and vague, IT standards must be followed and procedures documented.
- Advice/troubleshooting complex issues relating to the Banks’ core system or non-IT related whereby the understanding of the business logic is essential to solving the issues.
- Assist Programmers to document user requirements for Systems Development projects and develop systems specifications to ensure that all IT projects meet those requirements.
- Conduct own research work to keep abreast with technology trends and make appropriate recommendations to the Team Leader Systems Development via Programmers.
- Assist/ make accessible and available key IT policies that govern systems development.
